The experienced team of Simrik Air Helicopter succeeded in safely evacuating a critically ill COVID-19 positive patient from Palpa to Kathmandu in a challenging weather condition today. Simrik Air’s H125 Airbus Helicopter having call sign 9N-ANB with Pilot-In-Command Capt. Rajendra Duwal with PIU (Patient Isolation Unit) and fully equipped medical team airlifted the patient from Lumbini Medical College, Palpa to TIA Domestic Airport, from where he was later transferred to Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku, Kathmandu in an ambulance. We are grateful to the In-Flight Medical Team Dr. Surya Prakash Shah and Paramedic Ms. Kalpana Gurung from Bhaktapur International Hospital for providing critical emergency care on air while transporting the patient to the designated hospital in Kathmandu. Till date, Simrik has airlifted over 220 COVID-19 infected patients to and from different places all over Nepal in its helicopter with fully equipped medical team and pre-hospital care.
