Simrik Air Helicopter recovered the body of renowned ski mountaineer Hilaree Nelson who had been missing since Monday while skiing down the summit of 8,163 meters Mt. Manaslu and airlifted it to Kathmandu. On 27th September 2022, upon receiving the information of the missing of the ski mountaineer, Simrik deployed its Airbus H-125 Helicopters with call sign 9N-ALP with Pilot-In-Command Capt. Siddartha Jang Gurung for Aerial search. Nelson reportedly fell into a crevasse as she skied from the summit of the eighth highest mountain in the world with her partner. Due to adverse weather and limited time frame, Simrik Air Helicopter with call sign 9N-ALP commanded by Capt. Surendra Paudel flew the next day again i.e. on 28th September 2022 with ground search leader Mingma Tenzi Sherpa and Sherpa Team along with the equipment from Elite Himalayan Adventure to continue the search of the stranded ski mountaineer. During the aerial search, the helicopter located the body and dropped the Sherpas on the location. The Sherpas then with the help of the rope and their equipment recovered the body of the missing ski mountaineer. Our helicopter which was standby at nearby location flew again to transfer the body to Kathmandu TU Teaching Hospital.
