Following the transfer of COVID-19 infected patients by helicopter, on 3rd November 2020, Simrik Air Helicopter airlifted a patient from Birgunj National Medical College to Kathmandu Mediciti Hospital. Pilot-In-Command Capt. Bimal Sharma flew from Kathmandu with PIU (Patient Isolation Unit) along with a fully equipped medical team in the helicopter with the call sign 9N-AKD to Birgunj for this mission. We equally thank Dr. Vijay Chaudhary who led the paramedic team with Mr. Eek Dev(Ramesh) Neupane from Mediciti Hospital to accomplish the mission. Till date, Simrik has airlifted 20 COVID-19 infected patients from Butwal, Lahan, Bharatpur, Biratnagar, Palpa, Birtamod, Jumla, Dharan, Pokhara, Bhadrapur, Dhangadhi and Birgunj in its helicopter with pre-hospital care.
