Four COVID-19 infected patients were safely transferred in four back to back shuttles by experienced crew of Simrik Air Helicopter and emergency medical team from Grande International Hospital from Gonger (Dolakha) to Kathmandu today. Simrik Air’s H125 Airbus Helicopter having call sign 9N-AKD commanded by Capt. Rajendra Duwal fitted with PIU (Patient Isolation Unit) and fully equipped medical team was operated for three consecutive shuttles to airlift the patients from Gonger Home Isolation to Grande International Hospital, Kathmandu. Further, H125 Airbus Helicopter having call sign 9N-ALP commanded by Capt. Hareram Thapa fitted with PIU and fully equipped medical team was used to transport one more patient from the same sector Gonger Home Isolation to Grande International Hospital, Kathmandu. We are thankful to the In-Flight Medical Team Dr. Rajeev Thapaliya and Staff Nurse Ms. Anu Shahi from Grande International Hospital for providing the patients with critical emergency care on air during the 1st and 2nd patient transfer. We are equally grateful to Dr. Suraj Gyawali and Staff Nurse Ms. Swastika Khanal from Grande International Hospital for accompanying the 3rd patient and last but not the least, huge thanks to Dr. Ang Dali Sherpa and Staff Nurse Ms. Anu Shahi again from Grande International Hospital for providing the 4th patient with in-flight critical care. Till date, Simrik Air has evacuated 246 COVID-19 positive patients to and from different places all over Nepal in its helicopter with fully equipped medical team and pre-hospital care.
