84 years and 80 years COVID-19 infected senior citizens were airlifted consecutively from Dharan to Kathmandu Mediciti Hospital by Simrik Air Helicopter, on 5th November 2020. Pilot-In-Command Capt. Bimal Sharma flew from Kathmandu with PIU (Patient Isolation Unit) along with a fully equipped medical team in the helicopter with the call sign 9N-AJZ to Dharan back to back yesterday for this mission. We would like to thank Dr. Vijay Chaudhary and Dr. Yubraj Basnet who led the paramedic team with Mr. Rajesh Bhandari and Mr. Bali Jung Shahi from Mediciti Hospital to successfully accomplish the missions. Till date, Simrik has airlifted 24 COVID-19 infected patients from Butwal, Lahan, Bharatpur, Biratnagar, Palpa, Birtamod, Jumla, Dharan, Pokhara, Bhadrapur, Dhangadhi, Birgunj and Okhaldhunga in its helicopter with pre-hospital care.
