The world's highest mountain "Mount Everest" grows by 0.86 m higher, as announced jointly by Nepal and China today. The new height of Mount Everest is now 8848.86 meters. After working for more than a year on data processing regarding the measurement of Mt. Everest, this announcement was officially made today. Simrik Air Helicopter supported the Survey Department Sagarmatha (Everest) Height Measurement Secretariat by providing helicopter service and ground support to the Everest survey team. Nepal undertook the initiative to measure the height of the world's tallest peak by deploying Nepali officials and experts to re-measure the mountain's height after speculation that the height of 8848 meters might have altered due to the aftereffect of 2015 massive earthquake in Nepal. Furthermore, the Government of Nepal felicitated Simrik Air's crew members today amidst the new height announcement ceremony of Mount Everest for successfully undertaking a remarkable job and supporting the Sagarmatha Height Measurement Project. Capt. Siddartha J. Gurung, Capt. Surendra Paudel, Capt. Bibek Khadka, Capt. Ananda Thapa, Capt. Bimal Sharma Sapkota, Capt. Hareram Thapa, Capt. Rajendra Duwal, Capt. Reto Muller, Mountain Guide/Longline Rescue Specialist Tshering Pandey Bhote and Longline Rescue Specialist Chhiring Dhunduk Bhote, Mountain Guide Tenzing Sherpa, Lukla Station In-charge Ang Tashi Sherpa and Marketing Chief Yogesh Sapkota were among the crew members of Simrik Air Helicopter, who were felicitated in a special program today.
