The experienced team of Dr. Abhishek Deo and Dr. Anil Patel from Bhaktapur International Hospital succeeded in safely evacuating a critically ill COVID-19 positive patient from Bharatpur to Kathmandu in Simrik Air Helicopter today. The 57 years patient was COVID positive 2 days back whose saturation was not maintained and was in 40 L/m. He was suffering from severe shortness of breath, very difficulty in breathing, rapid breathing and cough. He was carefully airlifted by the in-flight medical team in bains circuit with extra oxygen. Civil Service Hospital of Nepal, Kathmandu received the patient who was transported from Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur in Simrik Air’s H125 Airbus Helicopter having call sign 9N-ALP with Pilot-In-Command Capt. Rajendra Duwal along with PIU (Patient Isolation Unit) and fully equipped medical team. We are very much grateful to the our experienced team along with specialized In-Flight Medical Team from Bhaktapur International Hospital for providing critical emergency care on air while transporting the patient to the designated hospital in Kathmandu. Till date, Simrik has airlifted over 225 COVID-19 infected patients to and from different places all over Nepal in its helicopter with fully equipped medical team and pre-hospital care.
