Standby crew of Simrik Air Helicopter along with medical team from Bhaktapur International Hospital managed to safely evacuate a critically ill COVID-19 infected patient from Pokhara to Kathmandu today in last VFR landing time. This is yet another example of perfection and safety demonstrated by Simrik Air, wherein perfect calculation of timing by the operation team is reflected when Capt. Bimal Sharma Sapkota before departing for Pokhara, requested Kathmandu Tower for expedited departure due last VFR landing time. As a consequence, Simrik team committed to saving lives, has been able to successfully airlift yet another COVID patient from Pokhara to Kathmandu in final landing time. Simrik Air’s H125 Airbus Helicopter having call sign 9N-ALP commanded by Capt. Bimal Sharma Sapkota along with fully equipped medical team were able to airlift the patient from Sankramak Tatha Saruwa Rog Hospital, Pokhara to TIA Domestic Terminal, Kathmandu. Upon landing, the patient was immediately transferred to Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku. We would like to thank our Captain for the expedited rescue with perfect timing and the In-Flight Medical Team Dr. Ranju Tamrakar and Paramedic Ms. Anisha Kilambu from Bhaktapur International Hospital for providing the patient with critical emergency care on air. Till date, Simrik has airlifted over 235 COVID-19 infected patients to and from different places all over Nepal in its helicopter with fully equipped medical team and pre-hospital care.
