Simrik Air Helicopter conducted an urgent COVID-19 supplies including vaccine transport flight to Gorkha area today amidst challenging weather. Simrik Air’s H125 Airbus Helicopter having call sign 9N-ANB with Pilot-In-Command Capt. Kushal Gurung and Flight Assistant Ang Tashi Sherpa flew to deliver the supplies to different parts of Gorkha area. The vaccine transport flight was done to provide first dose to all the remaining adult citizens of Tsum Nubri Rural Municipality, who have not yet been vaccinated, as the trails remain cut due to recent rainfall and the helicopter was the only access to distribute the supplies. The flight was funded by MountainChild, at the request of Tsum Nubri Rural Municipality, the District Health Office Gorkha and the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee with the permission of the SWC. MountainChild is a non-profit organization which carries out all of its work and projects for the betterment of the children of the Himalayas and their HALO (Health Air Lift Operation) program is Nepal's first air evacuation service specifically designed to reach the most marginalized and remote villagers of the Himalayas.
