Cho Oyu, 13th Feb. 2022 - Today, the climbers' team from Pioneer Adventure led by Mingma Dorchi Sherpa were successfully airlifted to Cho Oyu basecamp by Simrik Air Helicopter Airbus H125, call sign 9N-ALP commanded by Capt. Siddartha J. Gurung and team to begin their expedition to Mt. Cho Oyu. Simrik Air Helicopter is glad to be a part of the Mt. Cho Oyu - Winter Expedition 2022 in association with Pioneer Adventure Pvt. Ltd. Mt. Cho Oyu - 8188 meters from Nepal side (south) - will be ascended for the first time from the Khumbu area, Nepal side. Previously, the majority of the summit of this colossal mountain had been ascended from the Chinese side. Therefore, the summiteers aim to explore and open a new route to the summit from the Nepal region, so creating an alternate way for ascending the peak from the Nepal region as well. As a result, this is mostly considered as a route check and reconnaissance ascent. Simrik Air Helicopter is proud to be the flying partner of this expedition for the daring summiteers who have set out on this historic and adventurous mission of ascending Mt. Cho Oyu from the Nepal area during the winter, which has never been tried before.
