Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Province no. 7 Hon'ble Prakash Bahadur Shah, was airlifted to TU Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu from Dhangadhi by Simrik Air Helicopter on 6th November 2020. After having some health issues upon testing COVID-19 positive, he was evacuated in Simrik Air's Helicopter having call sign 9N-ALP with Pilot-In-Command Capt. Hare Ram Thapa, with PIU (Patient Isolation Unit) along with a fully equipped medical team to Kathmandu TU Teaching Hospital from Dhangadhi. We would like to thank Dr. Yubraj Basnet who led the paramedic team with Mr. Rajesh Bhandari to successfully accomplish this mission. Till date, Simrik has airlifted 26 COVID-19 infected patients from Butwal, Lahan, Bharatpur, Biratnagar, Palpa, Birtamod, Jumla, Dharan, Pokhara, Bhadrapur, Dhangadhi, Birgunj, Okhaldhunga and Gaighat in its helicopter with pre-hospital care.
