Simrik Air Helicopter rescued domestic and foreign tourists stranded in Gorkha, Dolpa, Manang and Mustang, mountainous districts of Nepal due to adverse weather.
Simrik deployed its Airbus H-125 Helicopters with call sign 9N-AJZ and 9N-ALP and Bell 407GXP with call sign 9N-ALT with Pilot-In-Command Capt. Siddartha Jang Gurung, Capt. Surendra Paudel, Capt. Bimal Sharma Sapkota, Capt. Hareram Thapa and Capt. Rajendra Duwal to rescue people stuck in Gorkha, Dolpa, Manang and Mustang areas.
The tourists were stranded as the roadways were blocked due to landslides because of incessant rainfall and heavy snowfall for the past few days. Simrik Air Helicopters are being operated to rescue the people and fly them to Pokhara and Kathmandu.
Simrik Air conducted Search and Rescue Missions at various locations of Gorkha such as Ghap, Namrung and Bihi, Lower & Upper Dolpa such as Shelamukchung Pass, Dho Tarap, Shey Gompa and Dunai, various places of Manang such as Bhratang, Manang Gaun and Chame and also from different affected places of Mustang such as Jomosm and Ghasa and rescued the stranded tourists transporting them to Pokhara and Kathmandu despite the challenging weather condition. The evacuation is still ongoing as Simrik Air Helicopters are continuously conducting the rescue flights in those areas.
